I used a Spellbinder nestie to cut the circle. I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Black and colored her with Copic markers. For the base, I pulled out my alcohol inks and started to play. I applied a base coat and then squeezed drops of various colors. Then I went back over with blending solution to smooth out the edges. I did the same thing for the green square.
The acorns and leaf were cut with my silhouette cameo from shrinky dink material. I colored them with Copics. Then I pulled out my heat gun and watched the magic.
For the flower, I colored the smaller flower, which was white, with Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade. I layered in on the larger flower and added a jell acorn sticker to the center.

Thank you for stopping by and I see you had a good look through. It has been a crazy busy summer but lots of good times around that business. We have spent our whole lives being busy...working and lots of volunteer work when we were younger...so I guess it is no surprise that we are busy in retirement too.
We have My Sister in law and her husband for a few days and they were out with DH on the boat from right after breakfast till supper time. They got a little sunburnt...even DH. He is very dark skinnedso that was a surprise to him!!! They went to the top end of our lake and back...stopping at the floating stores and on to a pub for lunch. It is a full days journey...too far for me to sit till after my next back surgery...I had a lazy day writing blog posts as well as taking photos and editing them. I am not very talented in that department!
If you ever use snippets (scraps of paper) on your cards, there is a lovely challenge I go in for alomost every card...Pixies Crafty Workshop. It is so friendly, people will sign up to follow you and give lots of encouragement. I really love that challenge and met Di (the blog and challenge owner) as well as Hettie, when i went to England last summer. We met up and toured Highclere Castdle where Downton Abbey is filmed.

Hi Sarah, You are thinking Halloween/Fall, as I should be doing as well. I'm loving the alcohol backgrounds here, and those gorgeous acorns. I've used my Silhouette, once, in a 101 Dummies type of class. I know folks cut vinyl, but your's is the first I've read about the Shrinky Dink material. Good to know. Love the layout you chose for this little scary cutie. It is a darling card. Loved it. TFS & Hugs (and yes the Snippets Playground is a lovely, friendly place with lots of sweet & talented folks, who are very generous with their knowledge too- one of my favorite places.)
